This assignment was my introduction to character design.
I have always been fascinated by character concepts in games and cartoon/manga/anime but I had never tried it myself.
The "rubberduckie" prompt immediately inspired me to create a young character. Combined with "proud" I wanted to design a character that was extroverted and had a bubbly/excitable personality.
I wanted those personality traits to show in the main illustration. Instead of drawing the character in an idle or A -pose, i started by sketching concepts for the main pose.
